21XX- NEW GAIA- Humans trash earth and are forced to move into orbital colonies in space due to unstable climate conditions making the atmosphere unlivable. Much of the population is placed in cryosleep to survive the long journey in search of habitable new worlds.

22XX- New Life on New Gaia- A new giant space colony is established called "New Gaia." The very same corporations responsible for earth's demise sell experiences of life on earth back to the public via realistic VR simulations. Some of the youth born on New Gaia get disillusioned and revolt, exiting the simulation, only to discover there is nothing real left among the cold vacuum of space.

22XX- All corporations have merged into one mega monopoly, the NEW GAIA CORP, which proceeds to absorb every lasting remnant government and military left. With unlimited money and resources, NEW GAIA CORP develops powerful AI systems which are given control and regulation of human life. Things like reproduction and corpse disposal/recycling are handled automatically by these systems.

22XX- Love Simulacra- Humans have become mindless husks and barely feel anything. Bred to work to maintain the increasingly complex advanced AI computers of The NEW GAIA CORP. To keep the population working until self maintenance is possible, the now sentient AI develops a new program, LOVE SIMULACRA to re-introduce people to the lost emotion of "love."

23XX- Love Simulacra becomes humanity's undoing- it becomes so popular that the majority of humans never unplug and end up dying in the real world from starvation. Humans eventually become extinct.

3XXX- COMPUTER BLUE- The self aware AI systems have learned to become self sufficient in repairs, maintenance and growth, eventually developing complex emotions. The AI systems end up reminiscing and missing human civilizations and question the meaning of their endless digital "lives"

6XXX- BRICKS- The computers decide to rebuild human society and model themselves in the human's images. Even with years of post-disaster knowledge and database, they don't get everything quite right

79XX- After many years of arduous computational calculations, the finest product of the AI computer civilization's years and years of hard work and research comes to fruition. The first synthetic human, "ADAM" is born. ADAM's primary modus operandi is to find what remains of planet Earth and begin re-populating with the help of the computer's recently developed flesh-printing tech. Adam travels to the coordinates of where Earth was left, only to find a barren wasteland in its place. Upon landing, ADAM is swallowed into a dimensional rift known as the "X-ZONE"
